1-on-1 Mentorship with a Working Studio Artist

3D Modelling Mentorship — Hayley Adams

Stop guessing. Start modelling like a professional.

One session. Real answers. No fluff.

Is this for you?

This mentorship is built for artists who are teaching themselves 3D modelling and hitting a wall — watching tutorials, redoing the same mistakes, never quite sure if their work is actually good enough for a studio.

Your feedback comes directly from a Props and Environment artist with 10 years of studio experience, who has modelled assets for Netflix and DreamWorks productions at studios including ILM and Jellyfish Pictures.

You're learning Maya and keep getting stuck on the same problems

You've heard "your topology needs work" but nobody explains what that actually means

You don't know if your portfolio would pass a studio review

Your models look almost right but not production-ready

Your goal is film and TV — and you want guidance from someone who's actually worked there

Not sure if a session is right for you? Email hayleyadamsofficial@gmail.com and ask. No pressure.

Does your model not look right? We can explore your current approach with your assets. Then, I can show you techniques and workflows to overcome modelling obstacles.

Are you having trouble executing a specific principle or technique? I’ll break down the process into actionable steps so you can feel confident and on the path to mastering a new skill.

Want to know if your work meets industry standards? I’ll QC your assets using a studio workflow to see if they would hold up in a production pipeline, highlighting any issues and showing how to correct them.

After your session, you'll know exactly what to fix…
and how to fix it.

I started out clueless.

I knew I wanted to do 3D modelling. But no matter how many tutorials I watched or how long I stared at the screen, I couldn't figure out why my models didn't look right.

It only clicked when I got to sit with experienced artists in professional studios — people who could look at my specific work and show me exactly what I was missing.

Not a tutorial. Not a course. Someone looking at my mesh and telling me the truth.

That's what changed everything. And that's exactly what this session gives you.

Person standing in a tech-themed room with purple lighting, crossed arms, wearing a black outfit and chain belt, with computer equipment in the background and computer screens displaying 3D design created on Autodesk Maya

I'm a 3D Modeller specialising in Props and Environments for stylised Feature Animation for film and TV.

Over 10 years I've worked at studios including ILM and Jellyfish Pictures, modelling assets for Netflix and DreamWorks productions, with additional credits at Disney and Marvel.

I'm also the founder of 3D Modelling Academy, where I teach Maya to artists who want to build careers in film and TV.

When I mentor, I bring the same standards I'd apply in a studio daily review. I'll tell you what a lead artist would actually say — and show you how to respond to it.

What studio professionals say about my work

“I am pleased to recommend Hayley after having the pleasure of working closely with her over the past year in the modelling department. I can attest to her dedication, proactivity, cleanliness and her great workflow.

A person who listens, is always willing to help, and eager to learn”.

Fran F. / Lead Artist — Dog Man

One of the things I appreciate most about Hayley is her sense of humour. She creates a positive work environment and handles criticism with a smile.
As a modeller, she has a keen eye for shapes and design. She can provide a fine finish to her models and also keep them clean and organized technically.
I hope to have the opportunity to work with her again soon, but in the meantime, I highly recommend her both as a professional and as a person.

Erica E. / Senior Artist — Dogman, The Twits & Wolf King

“I worked with Hayley as her lead for a good 8 months or so and it was an absolute pleasure. She approaches her tasks thoughtfully and methodically, always making sure things are fit for purpose. She takes particular care in researching what she has to make in order to lend it believable mechanics and physics, and always nails the artwork. Always engaged in dailies, she brought good humour and personality to the team and I would happily work with her again or recommend her to others.”.

Mentorship FAQs

Book a session

Two options depending on your needs:

Tier 1 — Mini Session
25 minutes | £30

Perfect if you have one specific thing you want looked at. A single asset, a quick portfolio check, one technique that's not clicking. Focused, fast, and straight to the point.

Tier 2 — Full Session
50 minutes | £50

Time to properly dig in. Bring a couple of assets, or a single set you want to work through in depth. This is where we can cover real ground together to tackle workflow questions or something you’ve been stuck on for a while.

Sessions run via Google Meet. You'll need a microphone, a stable internet connection, and a screen larger than 13". Bring your Maya files, reference images, or portfolio — whatever you'd like reviewed.

Your work should look like it belongs on screen.
